The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Support Engineer who specialises in designing, maintaining, and improving core infrastructure across the firm. In this role, you will contribute to the stability, security and performance of our technology environments, supporting the National IT function. You will play a key role in developing resilient infrastructure solutions, responding to technical incidents and strengthening our overall technology capability. Working collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders, you will help deliver secure, scalable and reliable systems that underpin business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and review infrastructure solutions that support organisational needs and align with industry best practice.
- Implement secure, scalable, and efficient on‑premise and cloud infrastructure configurations.
- Perform operating system updates, patching cycles, configuration changes and general systems administration activities.
- Install, configure and maintain hardware, software and network components.
- Monitor and analyse system logs, identify issues, and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
- Document infrastructure configurations, standards, and architecture with a strong emphasis on security and maintainability.
- Conduct and monitor backups, system audits, and ongoing environment health checks.
- Assess and optimise network performance, reliability and scalability across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and firewall environments.
- Provide technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and post-implementation enhancements.
- Support the Cyber service line in Incident Response activities, including emergency infrastructure rebuilds and rapid environment restoration.

Qualifications and Experiences
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in enterprise systems and network administration.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, cloud or security certifications).
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware, firewalls and systems software.
- Experience with LAN, Wi‑Fi, WAN technologies, virtualisation platforms and cloud models (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS).
- Experience with system management, monitoring, patching, backups, change management troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of hypervisor technologies and modern security tools (AV, EPP, EDR).
- Proficient in designing, implementing and maintaining on-prem and cloud infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with Incident Response environments, including rapid infrastructure rebuilds and restoration.
- Understanding frameworks (ITIL, ISO 27001, ACSC ISM, and the Essential Eight).
