The Opportunity 

As our national security practice continues to grow, we are seeking inquisitive and analytically minded professionals to join our team of open-source intelligence analysts, based in Canberra or Sydney. This is an opportunity to apply your research, language and analytical capabilities to complex national security matters in support of Australia's national interest.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct open-source research and intelligence collection to support national security investigations and engagements.
  • Analyse Chinese-language material to identify emerging risks, trends and opportunities.
  • Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to interpret information from a range of sources.
  • Produce clear, accurate and well-structured reports and briefing materials.
  • Support strategic advisory engagements for government and commercial clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex national security matters.

 

About You

  • Professional proficiency in reading Chinese (ILR3+, HSK 6 or equivalent).
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High levels of curiosity, critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Experience in intelligence, research, investigations, public policy, international relations, national security or a related field is desirable.
  • A current Australian Government security clearance (NV1/NV2), or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
