The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Analyst to join our national Data Analytics team, based in our Melbourne office. The ideal candidate will have 6-18 months of data analytics experience, and a passion for all things data.

Our Data Analytics team bring together the disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, econometrics and financial accounting with decades of combined cross-industry experience. Our team works following a robust and structured methodology to identify all the relevant inputs and transform them into actionable solutions that will meet the requirements and add value to our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with partners and senior members of the data analytics team to define problems and prioritise business and information needs;
  • Develop data collection systems and acquire data from primary or secondary sources required to support our work;
  • Conduct a quality assurance process to address any data issues encountered;
  • Developing diagnostic, descriptive, predictive or prescriptive models to provide solutions and satisfy client, stakeholder and/or project requirements;
  • Use analytical tools to examine large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and anomalies, and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations
  • Interpret data sets and derive insights paying particular attention to trends and patterns valuable to provide impactful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Designing and developing effective, interactive and impactful dashboards utilising Power BI.
  • Support the Forensic team on investigations, disputes, payroll calculations and other advisory matters by providing robust, defensible analytical outputs.

About you

  • A graduate of a STEM‑related degree, with a strong foundation in quantitative and analytical disciplines.
  • Possess a genuine passion and understanding of the data analytics activities including data collection, data cleansing, modelling and visualisation;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to obtain insights from significant amounts of data accurately and with strong attention to detail.
  • A methodical and logical problem solver with a high level of numeracy and mathematical capability.
  • Experience in programming or analytics tools such as Alteryx, Python, Visual Basic and or SQL.
  • Familiarity with database management software such as SQL, Oracle or PostgreSQL;
  • Are familiar with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau;
  • Proficient across the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently, with an understanding of deadlines and competing priorities.
