The Opportunity
McGrathNicol is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our IT & Digital team, supporting a portfolio of business‑critical enterprise applications used across the firm. This role sits at the intersection of technology operations, continuous improvement and stakeholder support. You will ensure key applications are stable, secure and well‑supported, while also contributing operational insight to system enhancements and project delivery.
This is a full‑time, permanent role, which can be located in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. It is suited to someone who enjoys working across application support, light front‑end configuration, and stakeholder enablement in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Operations

Provide Level 2/3 support across enterprise and digital platforms, ensuring system availability, performance and reliability

Lead incident resolution, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and preventative actions

Proactively monitor application health, performance and data quality, identifying risks and improvement opportunities

Digital & Front‑End Platform Support

Support firm digital platforms, including the website, CRM and associated content and communication tooling

Maintain configuration assets, templates and digital components, supporting approved updates and standardised changes in line with governance, brand and accessibility standards
Change, Enhancement & Projects

Support minor enhancements, configuration changes and release activities, including testing, validation, documentation and BAU transition

Contribute operational input to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable and production-ready
Documentation, Governance & Collaboration

Maintain system documentation, configuration standards and knowledge articles

Uphold ITSM and governance best practices, contributing to continuous improvement

Work closely with business and technical teams to deliver pragmatic solutions and translate technical issues into clear guidance for non‑technical users
About You
You are a hands‑on application support professional who takes ownership of system health and enjoys working closely with both technical teams and business users.
You will bring:

Australian permanent residency or citizenship (required)
-
Experience supporting enterprise applications in a multi‑system environment

Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills
-
Experience supporting digital platforms such as websites, CMS tools, CRM systems or marketing technology

Practical experience with Microsoft 365 and related digital workplace platforms

Understanding of ITIL / ITSM principles and structured support processes

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with non‑technical stakeholders

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, accuracy and governance
Desirable:

Experience in a professional services firm

Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for content and template updates (not full‑stack development)

A qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline

Curiosity about digital platforms, automation and emerging technology
